Don Chamberlain – Is a Director of the Dearne media group CIC and has spent a lifetime in communications, in journalism and corporate PR. A miner’s son – he was firmly told “don’t go down t’ pit lad “. He did but as mining correspondent of the former Sheffield Morning Telegraph. Though working away Don lived in Barnsley and Darton before he recently retired and moved near the east coast. He started up Barnsley TV twenty years ago then as a terrestrial broadcasting project. Development of social media however has enabled a switch to the Internet which enables greater opportunity for showcasing the best of Barnsley and it’s many voluntary organisations. Don is interested in car mechanics and classic cars and recently passed the institute of advanced driving test – a project he failed to achieve some thirty years earlier.
